ABOUT ORGANISATION
Dohdal (translation in English: Grow widely) is a local organisation, formerly known as Toul Pongro English School which was founded by Sophan…. on January 1st 2007. Established to provide informal part time English to 60 children who live in the community with one local Cambodian teacher. A few years later, the numbers of students were increased up to 120. The school decided to employ two more teachers and the classroom was divided into two. There were two groups in each classroom, the first group study one hour and another hour for the second group.
On the 8th December, 2011, the Toul Pongro English School transformed itself to be a legal organization- named Dohdal Organization, registered in the Ministry of Interior, Cambodia.
On… the a new school building was established under supporting of a couple from Canada, Belgium, Italy and various generous people from overseas.
Currently the organization has three teachers who contribute their own time to teach children in their purpose to provide additional knowledge to those children. A local Khmer run organization involved in several activities:
- provide free education access to children
- educate well-being, quality of life
- hold annually meeting with their guardian/ parent to raise the awareness of education, child rights , trafficking, labor, sexual abuse
- organise an annual field trip - exposure and an annual party for children.
