English is considered as the second language in Cambodia and thus is important for the future of Cambodian. It provides hope, ample opportunities for a better future for all the children in order to move out of poverty. In the January 1st, 2007 Dohdal organization was established and started to implement its activities (it was not yet registered and was an unofficial school). Today, there are 200 children from 4 villages who attend the Dohdal classes daily: 50 children are pre-school students and another 150 children attend the English classes from 16:00 -19:15. Both classes run from Monday to Friday. The English program starts from the beginner to advance level, and the students attend class until they finish high school. This informal English program aims to give a chance for children to study a foreign language early and to provide additional support for children who study in public school. Indeed idiom education in the public system is not at its best level and doesn’t give the opportunity to the children to have a specific and qualitative teaching of English.

– Interactive learning tools and educational software make lessons more engaging and enjoyable.
– Computers allow for personalized learning experiences, catering to individual learning styles and paces.
– Using computers helps students develop essential digital literacy skills, preparing them for the demands of the modern workforce, , helping students understand their progress and areas for improvement.
– Online tools facilitate collaboration among students, allowing them to work together on projects and share ideas.
In Cambodia, health is the primary concern for people who live in the rural areas because of their lack of public transportation, expensive medical treatments, poor conditions of stay in hospitals, and under qualified medical staffs. Indeed the high cost of medical care cause the patients and their families to accumulate enormous debt that will challenge their life for years. Dohdal aims to improve the physical health of the target group by providing them basic health education and to teach them how to identify and prevent health issues. In addition, Dohdal is also involved in improving health by cooperating with qualified volunteers from overseas to treat, examine, and prevent cavities as well as to teach them how to live with hygiene. Currently, there some people still rely on traditional healer or unprofessional.
We welcome professional volunteers to spend their valuable time to help us in our programme. If you are interested to come discovering Cambodia, to volunteer and help, please contact to us.
PRE-SCHOOL
FIELD TRIP
SPIRITUAL (WELL-BEING AND ETHICS)
Dohdal aims to create a pre-school for the children prior they attend the state school. Currently Dohdal welcomes 50 children in total in two different classes for pre-school children under 6 year-old, from 7:30am to 9:30am from Monday to Friday. They study basic Khmer literature, English, mathematics, art, handcraft, songs, hygiene, traditional dance and science. Our primary purpose is to reduce the early dropping out of school by focusing on 4 main learning areas – physical, emotional, social and cognitive learning – which help the children to be prepared prior attending primary state school.
Dohdal organize field trips annually in different destinations in Cambodia. It is an exciting time for children to discover the beauties of their country. The trips are reflecting what the students have learned such as cultural sites, monuments and temples, resorts, and more generally lifestyle. It is the best practice for children to compare between reality and theory. Trips are inspiration for them all to visualize their potential of the future through bridging what they have been studying and their future. After each trips, they feel proud of the rich cultures in Cambodia. It is a great chance for them to learn, relax and have fun.
